Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs tops Forbes Cash Kings 2013. According to the report he pulled in a cool $50 million in the 12-month period. His diverse portfolio of interests include Bad Boy records, Blue Flame agency, Sean John clothing line, and a monster agreement with Diageo’s Ciroc vodka that now brings in the biggest share of his dough. And he’s not done yet with plans for a new cable channel Revolt later in the fall.
Who else is on the list? Of course “Jigga Man” aka Jay-Z, Mr. Carter comes in second with a reported $43 million. And in third place is the West Coast icon, Dr. Dre at $40-million. Those are not bad figures for one-year by any measure.
Forbes didn’t miss the women with Nici Minaj at number 4 at $29 -million. She’s followed by Birdman at $21-million. With these kinds of earnings its no surprise that “being a rapper” has become a favorite career pursuit. (Remember when Forbes’ didn’t even acknowledge the existence of Hip-Hop?) My how things have changed.
