New year, new hair: Chicago woman advocates for return to natural hairstyles, with a big chop first

Kudos to you, girl! Now if only the white community would do the same. We women seem to think that only the hair dresser knows what looks good. How about your husbands, girls? Or has the fact that divorce and separation are the norm escaped you? I asked my husband to tell me the truth about my hair. He told me he was sick of dyed, straightened, chopped hair etc. So I let my hair grow out for two years. Our relationship returned to our honeymoon days over that time. My husband became so loving and complimentary that I was amazed. A womans hair is her glory and I, for one, will never listen to a hairstylist again.
